Students in the Siuslaw Region may face housing instability or sudden crisis that disrupts school and daily life. We offer short-term, flexible support focused on restoring stability and helping students stay connected to school.

We provide short-term, flexible support to help students and families in the Siuslaw Region regain stability during housing disruption or sudden crisis.
Our support generally falls into three areas:
Housing Assistance
This includes limited rental assistance or mortgage assistance when a short-term intervention can prevent displacement and help a student remain connected to school.
Diversion Support Services
When a family’s need does not fit neatly into traditional assistance programs, we focus on problem-solving. Diversion support may include temporary crisis lodging, basic supplies, transportation support, work or school-related needs, or other practical help that reduces disruption and helps a student stay safe and stable.
Our approach is flexible because every family’s situation is different. We respond based on what will make the biggest difference in keeping a student connected to school and daily life.

Sometimes a family’s needs go beyond what Safe Shelter for Siuslaw Students can provide directly. If that happens, these local supports may be able to help.
